Eizan Railway Demachiyanagi Station, is located in eastern part of Kyoto City.

Keihan Railway also runs a subway line to Demachiyanagi Station through Kyoto City.

Eizan Electric Railway, runs "one man" (conductor less) trolly type trains from Kyoto City (from Demachiyanagi) to two tourist locations in the suburbs of Kyoto City.

They are Kurama Dera (Kurama Temple) and Yase Station (Yase station provides the Cable Car and Rope Way to Mt. Hiei or Hieizan).  Both routes (specially the Kurama Temple route) are extremely scenic and enchanting.

Here is a video of the Eizan Railway Demachiyanagi Station.

As mentioned above Keihan Railway has an underground station at Demachiyanagi.  This Keihan line provides service to Tofukuji, Fushimi Inari Shrine and Uji City.  See my Keihan Railway Uji Station page.
