Well, you may be wondering
, why I have included a Ferry Ride as part of the Train Rides.  Well, this particular Ferry is owned by Japan Railway (JR) and if you are a holder of JR Pass, you can take this Ferry to go to Miyajima Island.  So, for the fun of it, I have included this in the Train Rides section.  Trust me, you will enjoy this video.

The JR Miyajima Ferry runs from Hiroshima bay to the Miyajima Island.

Miyajima Island is located south of Hiroshima City in the Chugoku region of Western Japan.  Miyajima Island, also called as Itsukushima Island, is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Itsukushima Island has the Itsukushima Jinja Shrine.  This Shrine's Torii is built in the water and in high tide it looks like it is floating in water.  It is the highlight of this Island.

Here is the video of the JR Miyajima Ferry Ride:

In addition to the JR Miyajima Ferry, there is also another Ferry company right alongside JR Ferry but if you are a foreign visitor and have a Japan Rail Pass, take the JR Ferry.

This boat ride (specially before the sun set) is one of the most beautiful ferry rides, definitely in Japan, probably in the world.
